Why we send it free
Nobody has ever specified a good book from a screen. The decisions that matter, paper, cloth, foil, board and binding, are decisions of touch. We would rather you made them with the real materials in your hand than guessed and regretted. The pack is free to publishers, brands, galleries, practices and authors with a genuine project in view.
What is inside
The pack is assembled by hand at Albemarle Street and contains the following.
- Paper swatch cards: our uncoated, coated, recycled and cotton stocks, each labelled with weight and bulk
- Cloth swatches: buckram, linen and natural weaves, with foil applied to each
- Foil chips: metallic and pigment foils on cloth and paper
- Binding samples: a sewn text block, a PUR comparison piece and an exposed spine sample
- Finishing samples: gilded and sprayed edge swatches, ribbon, headband and endpaper cards
- A tipped in plate on cotton paper
- A printed colour chart on fine art stock
- A dummy book: a blank bound hardback in one of our standard specifications
How to request it
Use the enquiry form on our contact page and select the sample pack option, or telephone the studio on 0203 8388 771, or email info@grosvenorguildpress.com with a sentence about your project. Packs are dispatched within two working days for next day delivery across the UK.
What happens next
Nothing, unless you want it to. There is no follow up call unless you ask for one. When you are ready, use the quote calculator on our home page to price your specification, or send us the brief and we will prepare a written quotation with a printed dummy.
